OrthoBalance has been developed by Dennis Bartram over 50 years. With its roots in Traditional Japanese Medicine (Amatsu) it has been used to treat thousands of people and train people worldwide to help musculoskeletal, nerve, visceral (organ) disorders, ranging from headaches and backpain to acid reflux and IBS, and help maintain the health and wellbeing.

During the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown when we couldn't treat our clients, many were left asking the question

'What can we do at home to help ourselves?!'

We found that we could actually teach our clients self treatment procedures through online video calls, to reduce tension and pain and maintain their own alignment and function of their body's at home.
Because of this OrthoBalance self treatment was born.
Now with interactive workbooks, both recorded and live sessions we can help provide pain relief, and help you to take back control of your own health at home.

We now use this as part of our protocol to help maintain clients in between their treatments to help maintain their wellbeing.

is the updated version of the skills first taught and presented by Dennis Bartram in 1989, to maintain Alignment Posture and mobility of the body, the year his son Christopher was born.

Dyslexic in his youth Dennis attended an 'Education Kinesiology' course in 1987 which helped to stabilise and manage his condition. When he found the Martial art of Dr.Masaaki Hatsumi and the stick patterns and movements, he found that using a stick helped stabilise his condition further. Dennis then combined the concepts to develop a programme that Integrates the Brain Hemispheres and Switches On the reflexes of the body, to develop coordination and to move efficiently, underpinned by the science of Dr. Steven Levin (Phd) Biotensegrity, and the Fascial elastic recoil concept.
Dennis has studied and practiced various methods of Body Alignment therapies including Osteopathy, Applied Kinesiology, Reflexology, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Touch for Health and 35 years studying under his Japanese mentor and teacher Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi (Phd) Grandmaster of traditional Japanese Medicine. Dennis helped to combine and bring the study of Natural Japanese Medicine to the Western world under the tutelage of Dr. Hasaaki, and passing on the message of his mentor. Dennis is one of only 4 people in the world who have been granted a Menkyo Kaiden Certificate and teaching rights to the ‘Ancient school of Protection of the self’ granted by his teacher in 1995.

Dennis brought his son Christopher up with these principles and what he was learning from Dr. Hatsumi and movement philosophy (known as ‘Taijutsu’) James' Chris best friend has also been trained by Dennis for over 10 years in Budo Taijutsu and along with his knowledge of Sports Science, and his love for the outdoors, both Chris and James passed their 5th Dan certificate in Japan last year.

Chris’ sister Charlotte has also grown up with these principles from a young age, is a keen climber and lover of the outdoors and is now currently learning Amatsu Therapy from Dennis.

The whole team have helped develop the program to be able to SHARE the principles, Dennis has taught them for everyone of all ages to benefit.
